The bunkers at Spanish Oaks are now 12 years old and are in need of restoration. This process will take a few months and while not difficult, it is time consuming with the number of bunkers on the course. The sand is removed and the old edges are re-established as some have grown in over the years a few feet. Drainage, which is a big part of this process, is checked for any problems, cleaned and repaired. We are installing SandMat 350 liner, this prevents contamination and helps with washouts off the faces during rain events. Sand is then added and compacted, which completes the bunker renovation process.
